Boston Circus Guild Covid-19 Safety Plans
The Boston Circus Guild is pleased to announce that we are currently available for in-person and virtual events that meet our Covid-safety protocol. We are consistently reexamining and updating this protocol to reflect new information from the CDC and other medical professionals, as well as state and municipal guidelines. The safety of our performers, our clientele and our community is always of utmost importance to us. If you are interested in booking one or more of our talented circus performers, our Bookings Manager will discuss the details of our Covid-safety protocol with you in the context of your event.
The following is an outline of our Covid-19 Safety Protocol. For every client inquiry that we receive, BCG will convene our Covid-Safety Task Force to assess the event on a case-by-case basis for each of the following criteria, and may adjust some of these criteria depending on event-specific details.
Safety Enforcement Plan
- Clients must have a reasonable written safety plan including enforcement protocol for their own staff and guests, as well as any other personnel or contractors who will be present.
Event Setting
- All events must be outdoors in open spaces.
Masks
- All events must conform to CDC mask wearing guidelines.
- If attendees are eating and drinking, or not wearing masks for other reasons during the event, they must maintain a minimum 10-foot distance from all BCG personnel, including both performers and site managers.
Population Density
- All events must have a low enough population density for everyone, (including guests, event staff, BCG personnel, etc.), to easily adhere to social distance guidelines of at least 6 feet.
- No BCG personnel will be asked to be in close proximity (e.g. less than 6 feet, in an enclosed space, etc.) to someone outside of their household or established social-distancing bubble for more than 15 minutes.
Performance Area
- There must be a physical barrier between the audience and the performance space such that no human crowd control, either by client staff or BCG personnel, is necessary.
Load-in/out and Transition Between Zones
- BCG Personnel must be able to arrive, set up equipment, and access all necessary spaces while adhering to social distance guidelines of at least 6 feet.
Shared Surfaces
- BCG Personnel must not be expected to interact with surfaces shared with guests or event staff.
Safety Enforcement Plan
- Clients must have a reasonable written safety plan including enforcement protocol.
Length of Event
- No BCG Personnel should be onsite for more than 2 hours, including setup, ready time, performance and breakdown.
Bathroom Access
- BCG personnel must have access to bathroom facilities that are clean and separate from those used by event staff or attendees.
- Shared use of bathroom facilities with other non-BCG performers, contractors or event staff will be considered on a case-by-case-basis.
- Exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis for short events (less than 30 minutes).
Green Room/Break Space
- There must be a green room-like space for all BCG personnel to sit, eat, or temporarily remove their masks safely. This should include sufficient space to maintain approximately 10 feet of distance between individuals, and/or adequate ventilation like open windows or an active air circulation system.
- Exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis for short events (less than 30 minutes).
Travel Restrictions
- BCG personnel are required to follow any relevant state's Covid travel restrictions.
Day-Of Health Screening
- All BCG personnel are expected to perform a personal health screening before the event on the same day, using the CDC's Covid Screening questionnaire, Google's Covid-19 self-assessment, or similar.
