The Boston Circus Guild is excited to be holding auditions to add to our roster of performing circus artists!
Auditions will be held in Somerville, MA on Saturday February 24th, 2024 for professional circus artists who possess strong technical ability, artistry, and charisma. Accommodations may be made for applicants with extenuating circumstances or who are unavailable for the in-person date.
At this time, the Boston Circus Guild is actively seeking performers who specialize in at least one of the following disciplines:

Performers from groups that are historically underrepresented in New England circus performance, who specialize in any circus discipline, are encouraged to submit their materials for this audition!

Important information
The in person audition will consist of performing a 15 minute ambient set for one or two of your skills in a studio space. Professional costume and makeup are not required for the audition. More details will be provided to those selected to audition in person.
If you are unable to attend the in-person audition but would still like to apply, please include a note with your materials that you are in need of an accommodation. Selected candidates who are not able to attend in-person may be accommodated on alternate dates.

Requirements & Qualifications
- 18 years or older
- Based in New England
- High level of skill in one or more circus performance disciplines
- Some professional performing experience a plus
- Timely communication
- Desire to engage with the Boston-area circus community
Required submission materials
- CV/resumé that includes the following information:
- Address, phone number, and email address
- Your website, if you have one
- Details about your training/schooling in circus
- Your primary and any secondary disciplines
- Your performance experience
- Video Submission, including at least one of the following:
- Option 1 -- Act footage for each discipline you wish to audition
- Maximum length 8 minutes per act
- Include a link to view on Youtube, Vimeo, etc. Please do not send a file that must be downloaded in order to be viewed.
- Minimal edits, one long take preferred
- No Instagram links accepted
- Footage should be as clear as possible, but does not need to be professionally shot and edited. Clear cell phone footage is acceptable.
- Option 2 -- Demo reel that includes footage of primary and any secondary disciplines, if applicable
- Maximum length 8 minutes
- Include a link to view on Youtube, Vimeo, etc. Please do not send a file that must be downloaded in order to be viewed.
- No Instagram links accepted
- Footage should be as clear as possible, but does not need to be professionally shot and edited. Clear cell phone footage is acceptable.
- Total length of all submitted videos may not exceed 10 minutes
- Option 1 -- Act footage for each discipline you wish to audition
- Photos of yourself in performance costume and make-up (2-4 images)

- Only complete submissions will be considered (CV/resumé, video component, and photos).
- Only selected candidates will be invited to the in-person audition.
- Invitations will be sent no later than February 9th, 2024.
